Very Fine copy in original glassine dust jacket.Some pieces of dust jacket missing, but this piece is rarely seen in the trade. This first edition quickly met the resistance of a team of lawyers, mostly based on one page of text. Haley was accused of libel in a dozen lawsuits and was forced to withdraw the book from circulation in 1931. According to Robinson, Haley (1978): The first edition consisted of 1,380 copies, and was withdrawn from circulation soon after it was first issued.
