1700 RARE Large Original Bible Print Old Master Christianity Engraving Fine Art

  

For your consideration is an ORIGINAL old master engraving created in the year of 1700 more than 320 years old!!! The print contains two masterfully illustrated biblical scenes. He is one of the most renowned Dutch old master print makers of the 17th century. Although he is mostly known for his work of panoramic bird's eye maps, he also created many amazing religious illustrations.

Many of his art pieces now rest in various fine art museums throughout Europe. The particular print for sale is from a 1700 publication named. Historie des Ouden en Nieuwen Testaments. " The History of New and Old Testaments, so called "Mortier Bible. The accompanying texts are written in both Dutch and French.

They describe the various themes, iconography, landscape, and architecture appeared in the biblical description. Dimensions of the plate are EXTRA LARGE! It is approximately 16.5 by 10.5 inches (42cm26.7cm), a folio-sized sheet of handmade, old laid paper with mostly good margins all around.

The paper has toned a little, and there is roughness on the right margin in the normal process of disbounding from the original book. There is no obvious stain or foxing and the condition of the image is superb! This is truly a well preserved old master print that deserve the attention of any serious fine art and religious-theme print collector!!
