Athanasius Smolky Portrait of a gentleman, extremely rare miniature

Painted by Hungarian artist Athanasius Smolky the latter worked in Paris from 1811 and was especially recognized for his painted from nature! Portrait of Tsar Alexander I, who, as it is known, in 1814 and 1815 summered in Paris. Athanasius Smolky was born in 1775 into a Greek family living in Hungarian town Komorn. After 1800, he was mentioned as working in Grenoble (France). In 1811, he settled in Paris.
