For sale is an exceptionally rare First Edition of Martin Chuzzlewit, by Charles Dickens. Published by Chapman and Hall, London, 1844. The full suite of plates by Phiz here present. It boasts many of Smiths points. The plates are in the earliest state. Bound in recent fine green morocco over marbled boards. Ornate tooling to the spine and the title in gilt to a red morocco label. Externally it remains outstanding order.

The hinges are firm and the gutters intact. Internally it is delightfully clean to the text block, and the plates are among the brightest we have seen in this title. Overall, we could not recommend this wonderful volume more highly; it will indeed grace any collection. Further images are also available upon request.
