Elisa Paiuline Binet de Quehelec Little girl portrait, rare miniature! , 1830s

Set into original ormolu easel-frame (produced by famous Parisian framemaker Alphonse Giroux - see his atelier mark on verso), it is a high quality miniature on organic wafer with portrait of a little girl. The sitter is shown in a white gown with blue straps tied in bows. The miniature is signed and according to our friend, world's best specialist in portrait miniatures Dr. Bodo Hofstetter (see his publications) it is an extremely rare on current antique market work of French female artist Mlle sic! The latter showed one pastel portrait at Salon de Paris of 1845.
She is surely ident with Mme sic! Binet de Quehelec whose religious paintings are to see in several French churches see our image nr. Moreover, her full name was Elisa Pauline Binet de Quehelec.
She died in Paris, in ca. 1883 see our images nr. Provenance: private collection, USA We are very grateful to Dr. Hofstetter for his generous help.
