EXCEPTIONALLY FINE and RARE C1850 STAFFORDSHIRE ALPHA FIGURE BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

  

This is a rare, genuine Victorian Staffordshire Alpha figure of Benjamin Franklin, in near mint condition. It dates to approximately 1850 and is about 9 3/4 high. Figures in this fine condition are hard to come by. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, or restorations. There are a couple of paint runs from the original manufacturing process and a couple of miniscule paint flakes mentioned for accuracy only.

On the underside there is a sticker from a well known antique dealer in London. This figure may be found in Harding's Victorian Staffordshire Figures Book One, page 62, and Pugh's Staffordshire Portrait Figures, page 203. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
