A fine and possibly rare survivor of a short-lived period. Regency period porcelain footed punch bowl of Neoclassical form and symmetry , with. And adorned with leaves and vines of gold. By either the Swansea Porcelain Factory circa 1815. Or later possibly Coalport porcelain. The rim trimmed with a gold sawtooth band , the interior encircled with a gold vine with alternating flowers and double leaves, the well with a budding rose cluster within a round gold reserve with alternating stylized bell flowers and fleurs-de-lys , on a tapered collar foot trimmed with two gold bands, marked. Underneath in gold letters Swansea. Or 25 cm x 4. With minor formation and firing imperfections, scratches and wear commensurate with age and use, overall fine condition. ¹ The porcelain of this time (1815) is distinguished by its fine quality, and the pattern is usually pink roses with designs and borders in gold. Marks and Monograms on European and Oriental Pottery and Porcelain. With Historical Notices of Each Manufactory... The porcelain subsequently made (about 1814, and later) is now much prized... Both at Nantgarw and Swansea very free and finely colored roses appear on the work, probably done by Billingsley. But little of either of these factories exists.
