A fine and rare plein aire etching by well regarded English artist Henry James Stuart Brown. This work appears to be a different view of his etching "Rye", but we have not been able to find the specific title of the work. A copy of the work "Rye" was given to the Royal Museum by H. L Wright and subsequently granted to the Museum of New Zealand.
This work has two golfers apparently playing in the countryside of what may be Scotland. Stuart Brown is, possibly, the most underappreciated etcher in the UK. His plein air works have been favorably compared to works by Whistler and Seymour Haden. Measures: 10 3/4" x 15 1/8" sheet. 6 7/8" x 12" plate.
