Additionally, in 1880-83, he was a pupil of Anton von Werner. He also made study trips to Italy and the Near East. Clementz's historical, genre and portrait paintings were regularly shown at Berlin academic exhibitions (1877-92), at the Great Berlin Art Exhibitions (1904-11), as well as in Munich "Glaspalast" (1907).
Works of this artist can be viewed in museums of Nurnberg, San Francisco, etc. Our piece is extremely rare for this artist's oeuvre: until today, there are known no other works of Clementz painted in miniature technique.
