Up for sale is an outstanding set of 14 stellar trial proof etchings by Ira Moskowitz for his "Reaches of Heaven" book. This portfolio of 14 were all printed to make sure the plates were ready to be printed for the limited edition sets made. In this example we see plates that were printed with varying inks and colors they made as well as hand pencil embellishing where Ira hand gone in to make some adjustments on the plate later. The 1st image provided shows four separate plates with the varying inks some more brown than black while the third image shows pencil coloring in the mans jacket, hat and chair. Ira noticed that this plate was not complete in this trial print and added more to the final plate. Their are even two sheets that had etchings printed on both sides, assuming this was done just to conserve paper from Ira or his publisher.

All sheets have their full margins with some being printed on Arches wove cream paper and some sheets are on un-marked sheets. Their is no considerable damage or abuse seen, just wear from being moved from drawer to drawer and flipped through never being framed. These were never printed for resale but purely for the artist and publishers sake making them an extremely rare and one of a kind example of Moskowitz works.

This in mind none were signed or numbered of any edition. All sheets measure roughly 17.75 x 12/5 inches. The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this incredible set of 14 etchings but if you should have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
