Original Nazi German Wehrmacht Photograph Album. Includes a rare WWII German propaganda leaflet titled "Photos don't lie" - measuring 3 by 6 inches. String-tied black embossed leather photograph album measuring approximately 12 by 8.5 inches. Contains 114 original black-and-white and sepia-toned silver gelatin photographs in diverse sizes, placed in 18 leaves, with occasional handwritten captions in German.

26 photographs apparently missing, most (22) from the first 4 leaves. Stamped decoration to front cover removed leaving imprint and slight perforation. A well-crafted example of the vernacular Wehrmacht photographic album titled Meine Dienstzeit (My Service Time), documenting Nazi Wehrmacht life across camp and field in 114 original black-and-white and sepia-toned silver gelatin photographs, beginning early in World War II ca.

Activities and (occasionally war-torn) scenery represented here crosses the WW2 conflict from identified sites in the German base of Saxony to the Nazis (First) Slovak Republic client-state. The album periodically follows the recreational / non-combat exploits of a particular, unidentified band of Nazi soldiers in diverse settings cleaning barracks, drinking together, smoking together, plucking chickens together, and drinking together more including a large photograph of the entire group posed in uniform.

Compiled by a unknown German soldier first posted in Meine Garnisonsstadt Leisnig (My Garrison-town Leisnig) at the Friedrich-August Kaserne artillary barracks. In captions, the soldier writes Abschied von Leisnig (Farewell to Leisnig) on the morning of February 4, 1939 (photos missing). Six months later, in September 1939, the barracks site re-opened as the prisoner of war camp Stalag IV-B.
