OWLS LOVE Rare Antique VICTORIAN 18k Solid Gold Heart Pendant Leather 10k Chain

  

Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by! Awesome one of a kind Victorian antique figural necklace with two owls sitting on a branch applied over a heart shaped background.

The background gold heart is inlaid with a brown material, under magnification we think it is leather? Which is wrapped around the gold frame and cased at the top and bottom. As an additional surprise, the shoulders of the brown material are inlaid with tiny rose gold rivets and a sort of embossed pattern.

Such unique craftsmanship, I've seen nothing like it before. Wonderful design and nice quality in an eye catching size with sturdy fabrication. Looking inside the piece you can see initials engraved into the gold heart so it was likely a romantic gift. The pendant has no hallmarks but tests at 18k gold.

Included as seen in photos is the antique chain from the same period, which is hallmarked on the spring ring and tests at 10k gold. MEASUREMENTS: Chain is 20 1/2 inches. Pendant is about an inch not including the jump ring by about 7/8 of an inch. Weighs 8.7 grams together. Please note that all my pieces are in estate condition.

One of the chain links is a replacement loop that is slightly larger, about 2 inches above center on one side. A bit of surface wear to the pendant but no major condition issues. Overall the gold fill is still vibrant with very beautiful warm buttery coloring with rosy highlights that is very eye catching.

Such a fun and interesting antique piece. But Please note due to age, this set is not in mint condition.
