VOLKSTEDT TRIEBNER ENS & ECKERT CHERUB & BIRDS CANDLEHOLDER VASE. For your considerationa rare Volkstedt fine porcelain combination candelholder / vase by Triebner Ens & Eckert featuring an embellished all over design of delicate pink and blue flowers. The trunk of the tree is the base for the candleholder with a front and back compartment for flowers. On the side with outstretched arms, is a winged cherub. Extraordinary detail on the tree including applied flowers and a gold-gilt protruding limb and three birds with outstretched wings. Unmarked but cataloged with four numbers including a handwritten 3 in gold. A handwritten half-circled 3 in gold, a handwritten 81. In gold and an incised 2. V O L K S T E D T. T R I E B N E R. DATE 1887 - 1894 MEASUREMENTS Height 5.25; Length 4-3/8; Width 4.5 CONDITION Item is in EXCELLENT condition with no cracks or loss of paint. Cherub hands, feet, hair and wings are in EXCELLENT condition with no chips. Walls of vase, tree trunk base and protruding limb are in EXCELLENT condition with no chips.

The applied flowers against the inner tree trunk are in EXCELLENT condition with no chips. The three birds are in EXCELLENT condition. One wing may have a chippette (difficult to tell) but all remaining wings and tail feathers are in EXCELLENT condition.

The tip of the tree trunk may have a chippette the formation of the vase makes it difficult to detect any defects. As a whole, and because of the delicacy of the porcelain, the item is in remarkable condition. Item with packing weighs 3 pounds 2 ounces.
