Such a fine loom work, this, and in exceptionally fine condition for age and type, it has no holes, no tears or splits. Large in size, would be fabulous made up into a large pillow top for those fabulous down-filled and opulently trimmed pillows we all love and search out. I have crates of wonderful tapestry panels found through the decades and always with the intention of making them up as fabulous pillows, but here they still remain and I find myself admitting they're never going to be made up unless you do the sewing, handiwork.

Beautiful palette and florals and animals - I think Beauvais on this one, but might be finest quality Aubusson or Gobelin. Very good to excellent condition for age and type. The panel is last half 1700s to very earliest 1800s, and must have been on a large chair which was never in use. Usually the panel which has been the seat back is less damaged than the seat which becomes fragile from bearing the weight of those seated. This one is in fine condition and so is the matching larger panel which is offered separately. Beautifully worked, fine yarns of silk and wool. Also a plus, as you can see from the backside, the yarns are not much faded at all, so it wasn't open to sunlight's damaging light.

Clean and without odors other than the very light scent of wool, it is one of my best! I will offer the seat panel separately, and you see the two panels together in the final photos. Do note the cutaways where the arms/wood of the chair had to be fitted along the top.
