GREAT LOOKING LARGE 75mm WWI Trench Art Artillery Shell, Finely Crafted Classic Heraldic Lion, Souvenir of the Fighting in France. DESCRIPTION: Original 75mm WWI Trench Art Artillery Shell. Full length and has not been shortened as often happens. HIGHLY & NICELY DECORATED SHELL WITH A FULL LENGTH CLASSIC LION.

ALSO HAS DATES 1914 and 1918. No powder in it, and the primer has been removed, so absolutely safe to sell and own. Brass casing has really nice full length heraldic lion, etc. Nicely raised on the side of the shell by the hand work performed, on a stippled "treebark" background. Some other decorations on it, including flared top, and the dates of the war 1914 & 1918.

THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST AND BEST MADE TRENCH ART SHELLS I HAVE EVER SEEN. Particularly well made and nicely done shell. I have also shown a scan of the bottom manf.

It has an unusual bottom, and I don't know whether it is British, French, or possibly American. THIS SHELL CASING WAS FIRED ON & RECOVERED FROM THE BATTLEFIELDS IN FRANCE.

About 11" high overall, and made for a 3"/75mm diameter projectile. Nice patina and aged appearance! One of the nicer WWI shells you will find and would make a nice addition to your collection.
