Rare, Pair of Finely Decorated WWI Trench Art Artillery Shells, Verdun 1918. In very nice condition with minor, age-appropriate wear and patina.
Souvenir of the Fighting in France. Features a lovely pattern of flowers along with the date of 1918, each one has a different design. One has VERDUN 1918 with a plant and flower on it, fine detail. The other has what appears to be Mia 1918 with a plant on it, also nicely detailed. Both are around 6.5" H x 1.75" W at base.Weight of each is approx. I believe these are: 3,7 cm Hotchkiss artillery.
48 and 1.18 (1918) - (also the little bomb symbol). Ps = Parc d'Artillerie de Paris (Paris Artillery Park). One top cap has a couple symbols with the number 18.
The other has a couple symbols with the number 17 (hard to read). One of the symbols appears to be an anchor. Both have a solid metal top and empty copper bottom and the caps on top which are just metal. Both non active and none harmful. Please see all the photos for details, and let me know if you have any questions.
