Rare PANSY Guilloche Enamel Antique Solid Silver Charm Nouveau Victorian Pendant

  

Please see my other offerings and thanks for stopping by! Beautiful and rare French pansy pendant or large charm. One of my favorites in the shop at the moment, as the pansy always reminds me of my mom and this fabrication with the multiple colors of enamel is very lovely.

Hand painted flower with white guilloche enamel outline. The pansy flower was used in Victorian times as a symbol of remembrance. The name "pansy" is derived from the French word pensée, "thought". It universally meant "think of me, " so it would also serve as a very thoughtful or romantic gift or mourning piece. The pendant measures about 25mm by 17mm.

It is stamped on the loop but it has worn from age so I can't make it out. It is tested and guaranteed solid silver though. Please note that all my pieces are in estate condition. No deep dings, dents or bends, just some uniform surface wear and a few scratches to the surface of the enamel. A little bit of worn edges to the enamel seen only under magnification but very legible with no major loss - striking and identifiable design.

Quite a lot of wear to the back side, scratches and nicks made more notable by the mirrored finish there. But Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition.
