There are eight pages of photographs and a photo frontispiece from the play's first run off-Broadway. FIRST EDITION (so stated), however the DJ has no price on the front flap and the binding is quarter leather over cloth as opposed to cloth only. A Fine copy in a Fine dust jacket. This volume was INSCRIBED BY STEPHEN SONDHEIM in 1998 on the front free endpaper to Clive Hirschhorn, longtime theater critic for the British Sunday Express and author of several books on Hollywood.

ASSASSINS first appeared off-Broadway in 1990 for 73 performances and received tepid reviews. It was revived in 2004 and finally audiences were ready to appreciate a musical about assassins and would-be assassins of American Presidents; it won five Tony awards including Best Revival of a musical.

Inscribed copies of the book edition of ASSASSINS (especially to known acquaintances) are uncommonly scarce. This is the first one we've either seen or handled.
